I will be honest; I am not entirely immune to a well-done marketing campaign, and when it comes to perfumes, I am more than ready to give it a chance. This is why when I came across various marketing videos of Bella Vita Perfumes on YouTube, I was determined to try them out.
Bella Vita Organic perfumes are good when it comes to the scent, which is luxurious(as marketed) but my experience with its longevity and projection has been poor. The set of 6 10ml samples from 2021 had perfumes with floral, green, aquatic, and other notes, and are also dupes of other high-end branded perfumes.
What Are Perfume Dupes?
Perfume dupes are perfumes with the same or similar perfume notes which are inspired by a popular and highly loved perfume. High-end perfumes are exclusive in nature most often because they are pricey and not everyone can buy them.
But with dupes, they get to experience the same or similar scent of what makes a particular perfume so great because dupes are cheaper. However, most often, dupes lack the quality including the longevity, sillage and projection, and sometimes the very essence of what makes the original so great.
Bella Vita Organic’s Marketing
Bella Vita Organic’s perfume ad videos got to me. Going out in the streets, spraying on people and asking them how much would they pay for it, almost all of them said they would pay from Rs 2500 – 4000. And they were surprised to realise that these costs so much less, and I wanted to know what’s so great about them.
But I like that they are marketing their perfumes as dupes of high-end brands, which provides transparency to people who want to buy them.
Sample Packaging
The sample perfume came in glass bottles but plastic atomizers, which weren’t the prettiest perfumes I own. Although the sample bottles came in a beautiful black paper box, with beautiful descriptions of the perfumes. I’d have added an image but unfortunately, I gifted 3 of these samples to my relative along with the box.
The Pros
- Cheap: As marketed, you will get Bella Vita Organic’s perfume range to be much cheaper than other brands, especially its original counterparts. I purchased my sample box at Rs 350, which I believe was a good deal.
- Organic: This brand offers products that are organic, which means it’s completely safe for you to use. They also claim on their website that you won’t get allergies from these perfumes, which I am not sure how much is true. But I have not gotten allergies.
- Good Smell: No. They truly do smell good. I didn’t enjoy all of them and I believe that’s because those weren’t for me, but Glam is one of the perfumes that smelled really fun and ready-for-party.
The Cons
- Not long-lasting: Since 2021, I have used all 6 of them, and I have to say that the lasting power is poor. Even today I sprayed Senorita on my pulse points 2 hours ago, and can barely smell it anymore even when I bring my hand closer to my nose. The new ones must have upgraded quality now which I haven’t tried. They also have new packaging which looks much better.
Final Verdict or Personal Opinion
I often sprayed Bella Vita perfumes when I was at home because some of them were subtle and didn’t project much. Senorita, Glam, and Flora are my favourites, and right after a bath, on moistured skin, they smell good. I didn’t find others to my liking. As of now, I am not convinced to try new Bella Vita perfumes unless they have better reviews
I also think that they could up their game a little when it comes to the longevity and projection, and not focus on the ‘affordable’ part so much. I know that’s a marketing USP, but many people who want to wear perfume go for expensive ones and those who look for affordability aren’t exactly looking for organic perfumes – not yet.
