I started taking a handkerchief with me all the time since my schooling days. Since then, it has become not just a piece of cloth that I might need for my nose, or to wipe sweat(Indian summers!) but also a symbol of confidence. Believe it or not, one time I lost my handkerchief in my classroom during the second period, and I felt like losing my compass in the middle of a dense forest.
This is 2023, and I still have to carry a handkerchief everywhere – that’s just me. Nothing’s changed except that now instead of hanky spray perfume, I spray EDPs.
But is it any different than hanky spray perfume?
What is Hanky Spray Perfume?
Hanky spray perfume, handkerchief perfume or apparel perfumes are perfumes mostly manufactured for spraying in cloth or apparel which has more amount of alcohol than an EDP or EDT.
Handkerchief perfumes are quite cheap, especially in India, and often expected to not have any colour liquid as it might stain the cloth. It is also more volatile than other perfumes because it has a high alcohol volume.
How to Use Handkerchief Perfumes?
If you carry handkerchiefs, then spraying it in your handkerchief is the way to go. But you can also spray on your clothes or dress. Sometimes I like to spray it on clean and dry laundry too so that it smells good.
But I also like to spray it on laundry hours before washing them because the scent it gives after washing sometimes gives a better scent than the fresh scent.
Design & Scent of Hanky Spray Perfume
Despite being cheap, the bottles of hanky spray perfume do a good job of making them look fancy and almost luxurious. This is another reason why perfumes will always be about art – even when they are selling cheap stuff, they don’t forget to make the bottle design fancy even when they don’t have to.
Some bottles are straight-up duplicates of popular designer brands but what makes it interesting is their efforts to go to that extent to copy an intricate design for a cheap product. Cheap in the sense that it is super affordable.
And the scent itself is often good. I have known many apparel perfumes or hanky spray perfumes which they are actually good smelling for their price. Some are so good that sometimes I take a whole day to try to locate them online to buy them again but I cannot find them at all.
